This fall, Sternfeld Studio invites you to experience Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into the Woods as you’ve never seen it before: outdoors, under the stars, on the grounds of Staten Island’s Camp Pouch. Around the flicker of a campfire, storytellers lead you into the woods themselves — where fairy tales collide, wishes come true, and the consequences of those wishes reshape the world.

Reimagined with acoustic folk orchestrations, intimate audience seating (just 30 per performance), and immersive staging that unfolds along the forest path, this production transforms Sondheim’s modern classic into a ritual of survival, storytelling, and community.
