Auditions are open for Northern Colorado Performing Arts production of our summer show, INTO THE WOODS.

This production is restricted to ages 16 and up.
Please prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre piece in the style of the show. Please provide your headshot, resume and a karoke track. All parts are available.

Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. & Saturday 10:00 am to 1:00 pm (You may not be called every single day depending on the character).
Performance dates:
August 9, 2024 @ 7:00pm
August 10, 2024 @ 2:00pm and 7:00pm

Character Breakdown
Narrator - An intellectual and pleasant story-teller who helps to orchestrate the show and illustrate lessons to the audience.
Vocal range: E4-G2
Cinderella - An earnest maiden who is constantly mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters.
Vocal range: G5-G3
Jack - The feckless Giant killer who is "almost a man." He is adventurous, naive, energetic, and bright-eyed.
Vocal range: G4-B2

Jack's Mother - Browbeating and weary, Jack's protective mother who is independent, bold and strong-willed.
Vocal range: Gb5-Bb3
The Baker - A harried and insecure baker who is simple and loving, yet protective of his family. He wants his wife to be happy and is willing to do anything to ensure her happiness but refuses to let others fight his battles.
Vocal range: G4-Ab2
The Bakers Wife - Determined and bright woman who wishes to be a mother. She leads a simple, yet satisfying life.
Vocal range: G5-F3
Cinderella's Stepmother - Mean-spirited, demanding stepmother of Cinderella.
Vocal range: F#5-A3
Florinda and Lucinda - Cinderella's stepsisters who are black of heart.
Vocal range: Ab5-C4
Little Red Ridinghood - Spoiled young girl who is strong-willed, quick-wited, fearless, yet youthful and naive.

The Witch - Sarcastic, ugly-then-gorgeous, obsessive protector of Rapunzel who is straightforward and aggressive.

Cinderella's Mother - Deceased with her soul guarding and aiding her daughter from a tree.

Mysterious Man - Mischievous vagrant and nosy meddler. He is a good-natured protector and observer.

Wolf - Hungry and insatiable hunter who takes advantage of the weak by misleading and captivating his prey.

Rapunzel - Loopy-but-lovely maiden who is sheltered by the Witch and terribly lonely.

Just as vain and gorgeous as his Prince brother, he is always chasing the newest, most exiting endeavor.

Giant
Voiceover. The Giant's wife is an angry and vengeful 'monster.' She is seeking restitution for her loss.
