CSIC's 54th season culminates in a program of spiritual and emotional fire. Vaughan Williams’ monumental "Dona Nobis Pacem" anchors the evening, weaving texts from the Mass, Walt Whitman, and political speeches into a powerful plea for peace. Its soaring lines and cinematic orchestration create one of the most moving works of the 20th century. Mozart’s buoyant "Veni Sancti Spiritus" and Pēteris Vasks’ radiant "Dona Nobis Pacem" frame the program, sending waves of orchestral and choral sound that rise from intimate prayer to exultant brilliance.Dr. Alex Koppel, conductor
