Join us at METHOD Gallery to close out our anniversary month with a rare, immersive opportunity to learn the timeless, meticulous craft of Traditional Basket Weaving. This special two-day session brings the community directly into the gallery to create and weave among the echoes of over a decade of contemporary installation art.
We are deeply honored to welcome back artist Vicki Harlan of the Colville Confederated Tribes, recipient of the prestigious 2024 "Spirit of the Northwest" award. As an acclaimed teacher and award-winning weaver, Vicki will guide you step-by-step through the authentic Plateau style of weaving, giving you the technical foundation to successfully start and finish a personal work of art.
Whether you are a seasoned maker or completely new to fiber arts, this intensive workshop offers a focused, intimate setting designed to reconnect you with tactile, traditional craft.
What is Included & What to Expect:
Master-Level Instruction: Learn directly from a celebrated indigenous master weaver in an intimate, supportive environment.
Your Choice of Project: Participants can choose to weave either a stunning round basket necklace (wearable art) or a classic flat basket.
All Supplies Provided: Registration is entirely all-inclusive. We provide all master-grade materials, including beautiful waxed linen and hemp—just bring your passion.
Radical Accessibility: 100% of the proceeds from this workshop go directly to the instructor. To ensure financial standing is not a barrier to high-level instruction, we are utilizing a "Pay It Forward" model and offer grant-funded scholarship seats.
