Interwoven: The Oppresso "Leash-er"
Healing Through Connection, One Paw at a Time - A Family Connection Event
Special Operations Forces families are invited to join The Station Foundation for a playful and purposeful outdoor experience designed to foster connection, regulation, and joy for families and dogs alike.
Stand-up paddleboarding alongside a rehabilitating dog creates something remarkable: an opportunity to build trust, practice calm communication, and experience co-regulation through shared movement on the water - no instruction required, just presence, attunement, and a willingness to show up together.
This event is presented in partnership with National Mill Dog Rescue, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming discarded breeding dogs. Their dogs are on a healing journey too, and it turns out, those journeys have a lot in common with ours.
Dogs in rehabilitation thrive through calm, consistent human presence. Families grow stronger through shared experiences of cooperation and joyful engagement. Interwoven brings those two paths together, on the water, along the shoreline, and in every quiet moment in between, creating a space where trust is built one step, one paddle, one paw at a time.

What to Expect:
- Stand-up paddleboarding with a rehabilitating dog, alongside a parent or sibling, to encourage balance, communication, and shared trust.
- Walking, playing, and spending time with dogs who benefit from gentle human connection and positive interaction.
- Family activities that promote calm engagement, cooperation, and co-regulation.
- Time for unstructured play, laughter, and meaningful connection in a beautiful natural setting.
This event is not about skill, performance, or perfection. Participation is flexible, choice-based, and designed to meet each family where they are. Families are welcome to participate on the water or remain on shore, engaging in activities that feel comfortable and enjoyable.
This event is designed for SOF families with children who are comfortable around dogs and interested in outdoor activities. No prior paddleboarding experience is required. All activities are guided with safety, flexibility, and consent in mind.

Important Information
• Life jackets will be provided
• Participants should wear clothing suitable for water and outdoor activity
• Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times
• Dogs are part of a rehabilitation program, and all interactions will be facilitated to ensure safety and well-being for both people and animals
You will only claim ONE ( 1 ) ticket per family. You will be prompted to enter the number of adults attending as well as the names and ages of your child/children.
