Join us for our 3 mile Buck Moon Night Hike where we will navigate Cheyenne Mountain State Park trails by the light of the moon. During the hike, our volunteer naturalist, Ranger Rick, will make stops during the hike to discuss our park’s history, share facts and hear stories about the moon, and learn how to identify stars with our eyes and apps. There are several free star map apps available for iPhone and Android such as Night Sky, Star Chart, and SkyView Lite. Choose your favorite! The hike is limited to 20 participants and is recommended for ages 7 and up; children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. NOTE: This hike can be strenuous in certain parts and will also have areas where roots and rocks are present. Dogs are NOT permitted. Register on CPW Connect. The hike is weather permitting and may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather or muddy trails. You will be notified in the case of any changes or cancellations. Free event, park pass required.
