Interwoven: Family Give Back - Sleep in Heavenly Peace

Community Outreach

Special Operations Forces Families are invited to join The Station Foundation at Sleep in Heavenly Peace for a morning of civic engagement. Warrior families will support Danny Butts's non-profit organization, Sleep in Heavenly Peace. As volunteers, we will be measuring, cutting, sanding, drilling, assembling, staining, and branding the beds we build for kids in need within the local community. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is committed to gifting a hand-crafted bed to every kid in need.

Volunteering as a family sets an important precedent for the next generation. Tomorrow's leaders need opportunities to tap into the virtues of teamwork, hope, perspective, and gratitude. This morning of service for others cultivates empathy and humanity in both children and adults. Please join us for a morning of connection, healthy conversation, and quality family time.

10:15-2:00 PM: Bed Building, Assembly, and Delivery Outreach

Event Details:

This workshop may be most appropriate for children ages six and older. Children of all ages and abilities are welcome to design "You are Loved" cards for our bed recipients. A craft table will be set up to include craft materials so that children and adults can tap into their creativity.
Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the program.
Come dressed in casual, easy-to-move-in, "play" clothing. Warm, layered clothing will be best suited for this occasion so you can adjust layers depending on the activity site.
Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and All supplies will be provided onsite.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided throughout the duration of the workshop.

No experience is necessary.
Boxed lunches will be provided by Mission BBQ.

You will only claim ONE ( 1 ) ticket per family. You will be prompted to enter the number of adults attending as well as the number of your child/ children's name and age.
