Interwoven: Blacksmithing for Connection( Father-Son ) Viking knife
Special Operations Forces Men and Sons are invited to spend the morning with The Station Foundation to experience stillness while working with iron and flames. Join us at The Kilroy workshop to create your very own Viking knife as we tap into creativity and explore the extraordinary art of blacksmithing. This workshop is created with the purpose of creating an atmosphere for connection and quality conversations between you and your child.
The goal of this class is to provide a basic understanding of classic and modern blacksmithing techniques while participants collaborate with each other and the instructor to forge their very own Viking knife. By the end of the class, each student will forge and create their own Viking knife that they can take home!
During the course, participants will learn how to safely operate top tier blacksmithing equipment and will be trained on safety procedures and best practices. Over the course of three hours, each participant will receive hands-on guidance in the operation of propane forges, power hammers, hydraulic press, and numerous forms of blacksmithing tongs and hammers for shaping materials.
The child must be 9 years of age or older.
To encourage one on one connection and quality time, Service Members are asked to bring one child. You will only claim ONE ( 1 ) ticket and will be prompted to enter your child’s name and age. Upon arrival on location, you will be asked to complete an additional waiver for yourself and your child.
