Join InterPlay DC for a day of movement, play, story, music, and connection! InterPlay is a playful, embodied practice that invites us to listen to the wisdom of the body, discover what wants to emerge, and share that discovery with others. No experience is necessary. You are always at choice—you can participate, witness, or simply see what unfolds.
We'll spend the day moving between guided InterPlay experiences, shared forms, lunch, and in the afternoon we will have our wonderfully unpredictable Offerings where participants can bring a story, poem, movement, song, or whatever wants to be shared.

If you are new to InterPlay we encourage you to come for the morning session so you have a sense of what InterPlay is about with warm ups and a more facilitated portion. The Open Gathering starts at 10am and breaks for lunch at 12:30pm. The morning and the first 45 minutes of the afternoon are led by a number of different certified leaders, who often introduce a theme for the day. After the lunch break, InterPlay forms are led from 2pm-2:45pm. From 2:45pm until 4pm we have "Offerings” where anyone can make an offering whether it be an InterPlay form or something else. You can read more about Offerings below.

InterPlay is a wonderful way to reconnect with a sense of childlike joy and embodied playfulness that we don't always have a chance to tap into and express as adults. Please feel free to invite anyone you think may enjoy this experiential practice. Newcomers are always welcome.

More about Offerings:
Offerings is an open format where the participants determine the content. Offerings can be forms with multiple participants, a personal story, a poem, or an experience the individual would like to share. The person who proposes an offering must be a part of it. Participants are "at choice" as to whether to contribute or may simply witness the entire time.
The offering time is oriented more toward experienced InterPlayers, so newcomers may wish to wait until they have experienced a few InterPlay gatherings before coming to the Offerings. However, participants who are newer to Interplay may be inspired by the wide variety of offerings, play-ideas and improvisational scenarios that more experienced InterPlayers may bring up. Newcomers are encouraged and invited to experience the essence of play that each Open Gathering explores!

Curious to learn more about InterPlay?
InterPlay celebrates the creativity in every one of us and reminds us to play and embrace life, expand our personal awareness and discover our full potential. Leaders guide group participants through a series of playful movement and sound exercises in incremental steps. Each person decides how much or how little to do based on their own comfort level.
InterPlay helps you explore your own new possibilities through movement, storytelling, sound and song. Dare a little or a lot depending on how you feel on the day. No previous experience required.
InterPlay can be as simple as stillness or as bold as performing. InterPlay is a community of people around the world who speak the shared language of body wisdom, creativity and play.
Come and join us – just for First Saturday Open Gatherings or get more involved. Do as little or as much InterPlay as suits you.
InterPlay is an active, creative way to unlock the wisdom of your body. Learn more below, on the main InterPlay website https://www.interplay.org and on the local DC website
