This International Women’s Day, we’re sitting with a question that feels both simple and radical: what does it really mean to give to gain?Some women will tell you that generosity isn’t a sacrifice — it’s a strategy. That when we give our time, our knowledge, our encouragement, and our voice to lift other women, we don’t diminish ourselves. We multiply ourselves.
Others aren’t so sure. Women have always been expected to give, to nurture, to pour out — but how often do they see that energy returned? Should women expect to gain anything at all? And is giving still worth it when there’s no reward waiting at the end?
There are no easy answers, but there is a conversation worth having — and we’d love to have it with you.
Join us on Sunday 8th March, 12pm – 4pm at Firstsite for a day that has something for everyone: interactive workshops, dancing, and the kind of honest, meaningful discussions that stay with you long after the music stops.
In the spirit of give to gain, Firstsite’s restaurant will be open for you to enjoy food and drinks throughout the day. The new menu includes jollof rice, jerk chicken and yummy vegan options at affordable prices.
