ABOUT FITTA SISTA
Fitta Sista is a physical and mental wellbeing program created exclusively for women and gender diverse people, offering a safe, affirming and welcoming space to move, connect and build confidence.
Delivered in a community setting by Kingston Neighbourhood House, the program focuses on gentle, accessible activity alongside meaningful opportunities for social connection. Participation is flexible and supportive, recognising that confidence grows when people feel safe, respected and able to show up as they are.
The program is trauma-informed and has been developed in consultation with local organisations and services who understand the real barriers people face to participation. These barriers may include experiences of domestic and family violence, gender identity discrimination, caring responsibilities, mental health challenges, financial stress, body image concerns and social isolation.
Fitta Sista intentionally removes many of the pressures found in traditional fitness environments by prioritising emotional and physical safety, choice, dignity and non-judgement. There is no expectation to disclose personal experiences, meet fitness standards or conform to gendered norms.
The program is facilitated by Kingston Neighbourhood House’s award-winning program facilitator and proud Tasmanian Aboriginal woman, bringing deep community knowledge, cultural strength and a strong commitment to inclusive, strengths-based practice. At its heart, Fitta Sista is about connection and confidence — building trust, fostering belonging and supporting participants to reconnect with their bodies and with community at their own pace.
