Anna Haverstock is a Canadian alternative rock artist known for her raw, emotive sound, unapologetic queer identity, and dynamic live performances. Based in Saskatoon, Anna blends gritty guitar riffs, silky harmonies, and introspective lyrics that explore themes of self-discovery, love, and resilience. Drawing inspiration from Best Coast and Sheryl Crow, her smooth and profound vocals effortlessly complement her band’s soulful and grungy alt-rock energy.
Anna has shared the stage with renowned acts like Orville Peck, Melissa Etheridge, and Laura Jane Grace and headlined prominent festivals, including Ness Creek, Regina Folk Festival, and the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival. She was voted Best Solo Act in Saskatoon by Planet S Magazine in 2023 and 2024.
Her debut LP, Coasting in Dreams (2018), showcased her artistic depth, followed by the 2020 single “Reach Out to Me,” where she played every instrument. In 2023, Anna released her latest single, “Thoughts of Summer,” accompanied by a beer collaboration with 9 Mile Legacy Brewing. She designed the can artwork for the "Hops of Summer" brew, further showcasing her creative versatility. With her fearless approach to songwriting and an ever-evolving sound, Anna continues to captivate audiences and carve out a unique space in Canada’s music scene.
Born and raised in Saskatoon, Carly Kat is a singer-songwriter who pulls from the diverse threads of blues, folk, traditional country, contemporary, rock, and songs old and new. Vocals range from silk to smoking ash, soaring highs and growling lows, soft suggestion and billowing strength. Originals reflect on connection, social issues and change, peppered between her - and maybe your - favourite tunes. She’s 1/4 of Dirty & The Perks with two EPs released. Joined by Darling (of Darling and Hobbes), they go by the name Carly, Darling.
Jovan's entire life has revolved around music. As a toddler, you’d find her rocking in a chair, rhythmically entranced by the sounds spinning off her parents’ vinyl collection. Forced piano lessons in childhood barely made a spark, but when her dad gave her that first guitar, the fire was ignited. Over the years Jovan has graced many stages in and around her hometown of Saskatoon in a range of bands crossing a spectrum of genres. Some notables include Stars on Strike, Banjo Van (Necessary Documents, 2011 and Seeking Compensation, 2015), Jezebel (Forget Me Not, 2017) and The Chickadees.
Recently, as Jovan began to unpack all the baggage that comes with life, she dug in deep to explore ways of processing and expressing herself through story-telling and soundscaping. Her lyrics portray heart-wrenching, brutally honest personal encounters with depression, abuse, divorce, death, addiction, offspring, sobriety, adventures, and love. She is inspired by her daily musings and all the moments of pain and joy that play like little vignettes in her head. Her sonic landscapes ebb and flow in waves of crushing then comforting guitars, each taking their turn in the spotlight. Beneath it all, a driving rhythm keeps her on solid ground. Up front and centre, there’s a solitary voice with confidence in its vulnerabilities.
Jovan is currently in the studio working on her debut album, scheduled for release in late 2025. It is being produced by Kim Fontaine with recording, mixing and mastering by Christian Douglas at the Sound Castle in Viscount SK.
MELODNA is a Zambian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist based in Saskatchewan, known for effortlessly navigating across three distinct genres—R&B, Hip Hop, and Afrobeats—showcasing a versatility that makes their sound as authentic as it is compelling. Born in 1996 to parents of Zambian, South African, and Malawian descent, MELODNA’s upbringing was deeply rooted in music. Inspired by her father, a guitarist and songwriter, she began writing songs at the age of five, laying the foundation for a lifelong creative journey.
Breaking into the music industry as a single mother was no easy feat for MELODNA. Balancing the demands of raising her son with pursuing her passion for music, she faced moments when the weight of it all made her consider walking away. However, her son became her greatest source of motivation, inspiring her to persevere and show him the importance of chasing dreams despite adversity. Her journey is a testament to resilience and the unbreakable bond between motherhood and artistry.
Known for her raw and heartfelt approach to music, MELODNA’s lyrics explore themes of mental health, love, sacrifice, relationship loss, and personal growth. Drawing from a wide range of influences—spanning gospel, soul, and hip hop—she has crafted a unique artistic identity that resonates deeply with listeners. Her work has been praised for its ability to capture universal emotions while remaining intensely personal.
MELODNA’s artistry goes beyond music; she is a cultural force in Saskatchewan. As the creator and host of *Rhythm ‘N Vibez* on CJTR, she champions underrepresented genres such as R&B, Afrobeats, and Amapiano, providing a platform for global sounds in her local community. With accolades such as receiving airplay on CBC Music, performing alongside notable acts, and releasing projects that garner critical acclaim, MELODNA continues to redefine what it means to be a modern artist. Her work is a celebration of identity, resilience, and the transformative power of music.
