On Friday, March 6, come gather in community with us for the third annual International Women’s Day 2026 celebration sponsored by Yale Office of International students and Scholars - OISS and CRIW - Collective for Refugee and Immigrant Women's Wellbeing.
We are honored to welcome Yale international scholars Faihaa Dafalla (Sudan) and Oksana Goroshchuk (Ukraine) in a moderated conversation with Nour Al Zouabi (Syria), centering the lived experiences of women impacted by war and conflict. From Ukraine to Sudan and beyond, women face displacement, discrimination, violence, and loss—while also leading with courage, sustaining families, rebuilding communities, resisting injustice, and imagining peace. The evening honors their strength, voices, and leadership in the most challenging of times.
The program concludes with a reception celebrating community, featuring delicious Halal food prepared by local refugee and immigrant women chefs from Sanctuary Kitchen, Kandaka Sudanese Cuisine and Havenly.
Registration is free: https://yaleconnect.yale.edu/oiss/rsvp_boot?id=2316953.
