International Thespian Society Troupe 7825 - INDIANA National ITS Festival

The Manchester Valley Performing Arts Boosters would like to congratulate the school's International Thespian Society (ITS) Troupe 7825 for earning a bid to the national competition in Indiana this summer! The Troupe attended the Maryland state ITS Festival and competition this past January and performed their one act play "The Price" by Don Zolidis. They received the highest honors with a 🌟perfect score🌟 and were named Chapter Select to be the sole school representing the entire state of Maryland in June. Along with their perfect score, they also received Outstanding Performer Awards, Outstanding Technical Crew, Outstanding Costume Design, Outstanding Ensemble, and Outstanding Vocal Work. The students also had the opportunity to bring their performance to the Maverick Theater stage to rave reviews this winter.
Yet their work isn't done! The trip to Nationals for the cast and crew will cost over $45,000 in total. Not all of our students can afford to pay the ITS Festival fees for the weeklong educational workshops and competition. The transportation cost to charter a bus to Indiana and back is over $14,000.

This is an incredible opportunity for the group to represent Carroll County and the state of Maryland while enjoying their craft with other theater students around the country at Indiana University in Bloomington. But they need your help! The school and Carroll County Public Schools are unable to assist in funding this trip. The financial responsibility relies solely on families, donations, and fundraisers. Thankfully, the generosity from a prior donation to the Boosters and two other private donors have decreased the amount needed. Currently, the Troupe is hoping to raise $10,000 to pay for the fees and bus that aren't covered by parents, the Boosters, or the two donors.
