About this Event
The International Jewish Deaf Festival (IJDF) proudly presents an extraordinary cultural gathering in New York City, hosted by Shelly Guy and Janis Cole, Co-Chairs of IJDF and Hosts of NYC. This special evening features the powerful artwork of Israeli artist Uzi Buzgalo, whose vibrant creations invite audiences on a vivid journey of creativity, celebrating the beauty of interpretation and the richness of Deaf and Jewish expression. Designed much like a charcuterie spread, this event offers an inviting atmosphere that encourages sharing, conversation, and community connection.
At the heart of IJDF lies a clear vision: to amplify Jewish Deaf experiences through inclusive cultural and educational programs, fostering belonging, challenging stereotypes, and celebrating diverse identities. This event brings that vision to life by creating a space where art, dialogue, and heritage intersect. Through Uzi Buzgalo’s innovative pieces, known for their bold use of color, movement, and symbolism, audiences are invited to explore themes of resilience, spirituality, and cultural memory.
