Welcome to the International Filmfest Germany! Join us at the fsk Kino for a cinematic experience. The feature film "The Session Man" is a documentary about the legendary session pianist Nicky Hopkins who is praised and valued by world renowned musicians like the Rolling Stones, Beatles, The Who, The Kinks and many more, as the best session pianist.
Nicky played with these bands in the studio but also live and played on solo albums of all four members of the Beatles in the early part of a stellar career that spanned over 30 years. During that time, he contributed to over 250 albums and a vast number of single releases.
The film includes footage of live performances, rehearsals and many interviews with famous musicians, such as Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Pete Townshend, Peter Frampton, Niels Lofgren and many more.
