Understanding and Engaging International Students
Professional development for Educators, Academics, Administration Staff, Teachers & Study Toowoomba and regional staff
International students arrive with enormous hopes and often equally powerful fears. When those fears are misunderstood, they can appear as disengagement, avoidance or unexpected behaviour.
This FREE professional development session provides practical tools to better understand and engage international students.
Event includes morning tea.
VENUE - B Block Room 102 - USQ Toowoomba (at the Art Gallery function space)
Wednesday 17 June | 9.30-1.00pm
Communicating Better and Designing Events Students Actually Attend
Different students engage in different ways.
Understanding behavioural styles can dramatically improve communication and participation.
This session introduces EDISC behaviour profiling and explores how staff can:
*recognise different behaviour styles
*communicate more effectively across cultures
*design student events that attract and engage a wider range of students
*move beyond the challenge of the same students attending every event.
Designed for academic, administrative and student facing staff working with international students across the Toowoomba and regional education sector.
Your speaker - Anita van Rooyen - Founder and Chief of Awesomeness - Student Confidence
Anita van Rooyen is an award-winning confidence coach and human behaviour specialist who has worked with more than 15,000 students across Australian universities and education providers.
