Turbeskrivelse:
Bare åtte minutter med båt fra Aker Brygge finner vi en av Oslofjordens vakreste perler – Hovedøya. Her venter flotte skoger, lune badeviker, spennende kulturminner og en helt unik geologi.
Denne dagen får vi med oss selveste Reidar Müller, geolog og forfatter, som vil guide oss gjennom øyas fascinerende geologiske historie. Visste du at Hovedøya er et naturreservat med en uvanlig rik og gammel berggrunn? Reidar gir oss et nytt blikk på naturen rundt oss – både med faglig tyngde og fortellerglede.
I tillegg vil turleder Bjørn dele av sin kunnskap om øyas rike historie. Hovedøya har spor etter både munker og militær: Vi passerer blant annet ruinene etter et cistercienserkloster fra 1100-tallet, og gamle kanonstillinger fra 1800-tallet – med flott utsikt mot byen og fjorden.
Turen varer i 2–3 timer og passer for alle som liker å gå i rolig tempo, lære noe nytt og nyte naturen. Vi legger inn en pause underveis, hvor det blir tid til å spise litt, ta en drikkepause og bare nyte omgivelsene.
Oppmøte:
Aker Brygge holdeplass for fergene, kl. 10:00. Se eller spør etter turledere i rød T-vest eller jakke.

Hike description:
Just an eight-minute boat ride from Aker Brygge, we find one of the Oslofjord’s most beautiful gems – Hovedøya. Here you’ll find lush forests, sheltered swimming coves, fascinating cultural heritage sites, and a uniquely rich geology.
On this day, we are joined by none other than Reidar Müller, geologist and author, who will guide us through the island’s fascinating geological history. Did you know that Hovedøya is a nature reserve with an unusually rich and ancient bedrock? Reidar will give us a fresh perspective on the nature around us – with both scientific insight and storytelling charm.
In addition, our tour guide Bjørn will share his knowledge of the island’s rich history. Hovedøya bears traces of both monks and military: we will, among other things, pass the ruins of a Cistercian monastery from the 12th century and old cannon positions from the 1800s – with great views toward the city and the fjord.
The walk lasts 2–3 hours and is suitable for anyone who enjoys walking at a gentle pace, learning something new, and taking in nature. We’ll include a break along the way, with time to enjoy a snack, have something to drink, and simply take in the surroundings.
Meeting point:
Aker Brygge ferry terminal at 10:00 AM. Look for or ask about the tour leaders in red vests or jackets.
