Intermediate Woodshop Class: End Grain Cutting Boards
About this Event
Participants will work across three hands-on sessions with independent makerspace time in between. Students handle every stage: stock selection, milling, ripping, glue-up, end grain reorientation, squaring, sanding, and food-safe finishing.
Format: This is an instruct-and-take-home class. In each of the 3 sessions (about an hour), the instructor demonstrates the techniques and every step for that stage of the board. Between sessions, students independently recreate that step on their own project, on their own schedule at the makerspace, before the next session builds on it.
Class Dates: November 6th (5:00-6:00 pm), 13th (5:00-6:00 pm), and 20th (5:00-6:00 pm)
Instructor: Brian Bridwell
Skill level: Intermediate. Students should already be comfortable with basic table saw, jointer, and planer operation and general shop safety, from a beginner class or equivalent experience.
Materials: Covered by the class fee.
Clothing: Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothing you don't mind getting glue or oil on
Non-Members: Makerspace membership is required to access the shop for independent work between sessions. For 50% off your first month of membership, contact Alex at [email protected].
