Intermediate Flameworking: Glass Marbles
About this Event
In this 2 session class (3 hours each) you’ll use a small torch to shape colorful glass rods into marbles!
Session 1: Marble basics and cats-eyes (July 20)
Session 2: Implosion marbles (July 22)
Tools and skills:
* shaping with marble blocks
* transferring with a pontil
* flame polishing
* pulling stringers and making millifiore
As this is an intermediate class, we ask that you take the Beginner Flameworking: Glass Beads class first, or that you have some experience with flameworking glass.
All materials are provided. You'll leave with as many marbles as you can create in the time provided, and you will be prepared to continue making glass beads at home (or at Lansing Makers Network!) on your own.
