Inter-Agency Referral Discussion Training

This training day is for professionals involved in attending inter-agency referral discussions (IRD’s) for children and young people. The session will increase knowledge and understanding of the purpose and process of an IRD and consider the role of Police, Social Work, Health and Education within the IRD process.

This session will cover:

· Understanding context and background of IRD’s

· Reasons why an IRD may be called

· The roles and responsibilities of agencies involved in the process

· Stages of an IRD

· Information sharing

· Risk Assessment

· Decision Making

· Safety Planning
