INSTABAND PERFORMANCE: Sunday Oct 12 at 3:30pm.
Ever wanted to be in a band? Have you been in bands and want less drama and commitment?
InstaBand is an experiment in creating some of the feel of playing in a band, but just for a few songs on a casual afternoon. Roughly 4 to 6 people will alternate as bandmates and perform songs live for friends and fellow musicians at Maryland Meadworks on Sunday Oct 12. Here's the process:
+ Fill out this form https://tinyurl.com/InstaBandSignup to select songs and, if you are new, to provide some background info. We use this to match people with related interests and complementary skill sets. DEADLINE to SIGN UP to PERFORM is 11:59pm Weds Sept 24.
+ View the potential set list https://tinyurl.com/InstaBandList and tell us which songs you'd like to sing or play on (via the form above: https://tinyurl.com/InstaBandSignup)
+ By **Tuesday Sept 30**, we will select the final setlist and assign you at least songs to practice. Please work on your songs and be prepared to play your parts in the original key and as close to the original arrangement as you can get.
+ On Sunday Oct 12 (3pm call time for performers), we all show up and play/sing the parts for the songs we have been assigned.
+ NOTE: We need a mix of lead and backup vocals, lead and rhythm guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, and any string or wind instruments that can fit into the songs.
FREE EVENT for participants and audience but **performers must pre-register** to be assigned to perform with an InstaBand! (Donations and tipping are welcome to support the expenses and time of the volunteer organizers)
