Meaner Pencil is a dark folk singing cellist who draws on her Slavic soul and her Great Plains upbringing to create powerfully poetic songs that will make you feel better. Often compared to Neko of The Velvet Underground, she has been a featured artist on WFMU and The Village Voice. She has played London, New York, Paris, Berlin, and even once drew tears from a subway cop who was trying to make her stop singing.
