Detroit's most talented young poets will compete in a two-round Poetry Slam as part of InsideOut's exclusive Detroit Youth Performance Troupe program auditions. Each year, the top-scoring poets from this competition are invited to interview for a slot on the Performance Troupe — a rigorous, teen-centered creative mentorship program. Win, lose, or draw, the teen poets who participate will go on to perform their work across Detroit, become published authors, and write their way into Detroit's rich artistic history.
