About this Event
Inside True Crime: Ethics, Responsibility, and the Stories We Tell After Tragedy
Join us as acclaimed documentary filmmaker and UW–Madison alum Rachel Bozich takes audiences inside the making of some of the most talked-about true crime series of recent years, including Netflix’s Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal. Drawing from her work with Netflix, Amazon, and HBO, Bozich reflects on how these projects come to life and the creative choices that shape how stories are told. She also explores the ethical responsibility that comes with documenting real people, real loss, and real consequences. The lecture will conclude with a Q&A, offering students, alumni, and guests the chance to engage directly with Bozich about storytelling, ethics, and the enduring fascination with true crime.
