About this Event
Hosted in collaboration with DL Labs, this session will explore the stories and successes of entrepreneurs and business leaders who have made a significant impact across fintech, traditional industries, and social innovation.
This panel will focus on how innovation can make impactful change across industries. Panellists will discuss how entrepreneurship can empower marginalised communities and foster economic development in rural areas whilst embracing sustainability and efficiency to meet today’s global demands. As leading entrepreneurial voices, the panel will also discuss leadership strategies required for success and innovation.
The panel will include Marc-Alexander Christ, Co-Founder of SumUp, a fintech leader who has redefined payment systems for over 4 million businesses globally. Muthiah Murugappan, CEO & Director of EID Parry India Ltd., a business leader and London Business School alum who has transformed his company’s role in the biofuel, nutrition, and sugar retail sectors, bringing sustainability to the forefront of traditional industries and Rohini Patil, Leader at Dharma Life, who will discuss empowering women from rural India through sustainable business, clean energy, and social impact initiatives, highlighting entrepreneurship’s role in advancing gender equality and development. The panel will be moderated by Rajesh Chandy, Tony and Maureen Wheeler Chair in Entrepreneurship and Professor of Marketing at London Business School and Academic Director of the Wheeler Institute for Business and Development.

This panel is the first in a two panel event, each with a separate registration link. The second panel Flourishing Careers, Flourishing Children: Lessons in Balancing Family and Work will take place from 13:00-14:00 BST. This session will spotlight the Better Skills Better Care Centre —a pioneering initiative by Dharma Life in partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, International Development Research Centre, and UN Women, focusing on vocational training for women with accessible and affordable Early Childhood Care and Education, aiming to address the systemic challenges faced by low-income communities in India.
