Get hands-on practice to enhance your poetry skills in this immersive workshop. Every month, join Coach Laura Brown for close readings of published poetry, skill-building exercises, and feedback sessions. Be ready to stretch yourself, hone your writing, and grab the tools to write with precision and power. Each month, participants:
• Study one published poem by a diverse selection of master poets (ex. Jericho Brown, Mary Oliver, Lucille Clifton, Yusef Komunyakaa, and more)
• Learn a practical craft technique
• Workshop original poems through structured feedback
• Leave with clear, actionable revision goals
During the workshops, poets will develop:
• Confidence in giving and receiving constructive feedback
• An advanced craft vocabulary
• Stronger revision habits
• A portfolio of deeply revised poems
To ensure every participant benefits from the workshop, seating will be limited. This allows for more personalized attention, fosters participation, and enables targeted feedback for each person.
