Date/Time: February 19, 2025, 11:30 AM-1:30 PM CST
Location: Harris County Department of Education, 6005 Westview Drive, Houston, TX 77055
Topic: Securing Our Nation
Presenter: Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) Minique Crump
ASAC Crump entered on duty as a Special Agent assigned to investigate national security matters for the Washington Field Office (WFO) in 2006. In her first role with the FBI, she investigated individuals and groups suspected of supporting terrorism with personnel and financial resources. ASAC Crump also investigated some of Washington DC's most dangerous gangs with WFO's Safe Streets Task Force. Her work as an investigator in Washington, DC, required frequent collaboration with DOD, CIA, DEA, HSI and ATF.
In 2011, ASAC Crump was promoted to the FBI's Counterterrorism Division where she served as a program manager for more than 150 counterterrorism cases; often providing guidance and approval of sophisticated techniques. She further served as a team lead and liaison for operational planning visits in Africa and Europe to coordinate joint international operations targeting FBI subjects. While representing the FBI around the globe, ASAC Crump interacted directly with a host of senior foreign law enforcement and anti-terrorism officials, State Department leaders, the U.S. Attorney General, Chiefs of Station, military generals, and FBI Legal Attaches.
In 2014, ASAC Crump utilized her prior experience as a Marine Corps Officer and certified Defense Information School Public Affairs Officer to serve as a liaison between the FBI's National Press Office (NPO) and the Criminal Investigative Division (CID). In this capacity, she provided extensive public affairs guidance to CID regarding high profile civil rights investigations, international corruption, and U.S. public corruption cases. She deployed multiple times in support of criminal and counterterrorism investigations, where she served as the on-site FBIHQ advisor with the Attorney General's staff on media matters. ASAC Crump also traveled throughout the country providing media training to state, local, and federal law enforcement partners.
In 2016, ASAC Crump was selected for a highly competitive educational opportunity through which she attended the Marine Corps University's Command and Staff College. There she represented the FBI in a joint environment, and obtained her second Master's degree in Military Studies with a focus in Staff Management and National Security Strategies. ASAC Crump then was assigned to the Office of Partner Engagement where she was detailed to serve on the Washington DC-based Interagency Task Force to Combat Violent Extremism (CVE IATF) with a diverse team of attorneys, policy experts, academics, and political appointees. ASAC Crump often interacted with National Security Council Staff at The White House and fostered increased information sharing between the FBI and other task force entities by organizing FBI workshops, briefs, and other educational opportunities on countering violent extremism.
ASAC Crump returned to the field as the Senior Supervisory Resident Agent (SSRA) in the Houston Field Office, at the Beaumont Resident Agency, for four years. She was responsible for six counties in southeast Texas along the Louisiana border. As an SSRA, ASAC Crump managed an impactful cadre of agents who successfully handled a myriad of investigations, including WMD, counterterrorism, complex financial crimes, violent crimes, healthcare fraud, public corruption schemes, and crimes against children. In an effort to improve both private and public sector partnerships, ASAC Crump increased external participation in the FBI's InfraGard program, while simultaneously recruiting state and local law enforcement agencies to join FBI Beaumont's task forces. Despite maintaining a primary focus on the Bureau's operational mission, she also guided her team through multiple hurricanes, agent-involved shootings, the COVID pandemic, and substantial personal tragedies.
ASAC Crump later transferred to FBI Houston Headquarters City where she managed two robust squads concurrently. As the supervisor of the Applicant, Recruiting, Outreach, Media, and Training squad, ASAC Crump created Houston's first "New Agent Rotation" to streamline new agent probationary requirements. She also worked with the Applicant Recruiter to increase the squad's strategic outreach and recruiting efforts to support Houston's investigative programs, fill critical job openings, and advance external relationships within Houston's community.
While simultaneously leading this squad, ASAC Crump organized FBI Houston's first operational Threat Mitigation Team (TMT). She recruited experienced Agents and local and state law enforcement officers to serve as primary investigators responsible for handling threats shared with FBI Houston, with a particular emphasis on Threat-to-Life Guardians.
In July 2024, ASAC Crump was selected to serve as the Branch 5 ASAC in the Houston Field Office.
ASAC Crump earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in the Administration of Justice minoring in Political Science and International Law at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. Prior to joining the FBI, ASAC Crump served as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps, having been selected to the rank of Major.
