Should we have an AUHack in 2026? Let's talk :)
Do you want to know what it's like to be a part of a big, student-driven event here at Aarhus University? AUHack is a so-called hackathon, and contrary to what it might sound like, it's not “classical hacking”. What is it then? It's an event where you work intensively in teams to solve a problem; using skills within programming, design and project management. It was last held in October 2024, and we would love to bring it back in the spring of 2026, but we need help to make it happen! 🫵

On the 19th of November we will have an info-meeting, where we will explain what AUHack is, and where former organizers will tell what it takes to put together a successful AUHack. This meeting is of course non-binding, meaning you can show up even if you're just a tiny bit interested and simply want to know more 🕵️

To give some examples of what being an organizer entails, here are some of the major parts of it:
- Event ideation and overall planning and decisions
- Developing and maintaining the website
- Sponsorship acquisition and sponsor contact
- SoMe and graphical design/PR
- Finances and budgeting
- Overall project management, logistics and so on
- Hosting a fun event and making everything run smoothly
- Eating free food at each organizer work meeting!
- ... and more to dive into!

If any of the above parts sounds interesting to you, or if you just want to know more, then do not hesitate to show up! You do not have to think everything from the list is interesting - we want to find different people with different interests and skills, that can work together as a group 🛠
To be an organizer you must be a student at AU, and it can be a benefit for the planning if you study at an IT-education at Katrinebjerg but students from other studies are also welcome in the organizer group!

And lastly, there will be free pizza for everyone that shows up - just don't forget to click "Going" here on the event so we know how many pizzas to buy (and also write a message if you have any dietary restrictions) 😉

The info meeting will be held in Nygaard-295, meaning in the Nygaard building on the second floor room 295.
We will begin at 17:15 but please do arrive at around 17:00. 🙂
