Filosofisk Forening er glade for at kunne præsentere Professor Johanna Seibts foredrag om "Process Ontology" onsdag d. 19/11 kl. 16:15 i M2 i Studenternes hus.
Johanna Seibt skriver om foredraget: "What would we gain when we describe our world not as assemblies of objects but as “...the ongoing tissue of goings-on” (W. Sellars)? Certain deep-seated assumptions--“the myth of substance”—have saddled ontological research with well-known problems of ‘identity’(e.g., individuality, of persistence)—if we abandon these assumptions, we can sidestep or dissolve traditional problems and address more urgent tasks of ontological modelling, such as the modelling of the dynamic interdependencies within and among living systems and their environment. The talk introduces a process ontology that was developed along these lines, but I will ask what philosophy of technology can gain from a process ontology."
