Indigo Wind Quintet is a trailblazing wind chamber ensemble reshaping what chamber music sounds, looks, and feels like. Through inclusive performance, radical accessibility, and community-centered collaboration, Indigo Wind Quintet is committed to decolonizing the chamber music experience and amplifying the voices of underrepresented composers and communities. Founded in New York City in 2025, the group is composed of five accomplished artists and educators: Kyrese Washington (flute), Kamil Tarnawczyk (oboe), Chasity Thompson (clarinet), Aliyah Danielle (horn), and Rosalie M. Avery (bassoon).

United by a shared belief in the power of music to connect and disrupt, Indigo Wind Quintet embraces creative risk-taking and challenges tradition for tradition’s sake. Their programming is rooted in community-driven storytelling, curating works that reflect lived experience, cultural heritage, and social consciousness. Their debut program, Heritage and Horizons, centered works by Valerie Coleman, Paquito D’Rivera, Jeff Scott, and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, exploring themes of migration, identity, and resistance across the African diaspora.
