Indigo Sisters Apple Picking Meet Up
About this Event
As a child growing up in Pennsylvania, fall meant apples. My dad would take me to a little hillside farm just minutes from home, and we’d pick only what we could carry. It was a simple tradition, but one that stayed with me. The smell of apples, the crisp autumn air, the colors of the season, and the feeling of gathering something together.
There’s something about seasonal traditions that root themselves deep within us. They become memories we return to, and eventually, traditions we pass on.
This September, we’re gathering at Chiles Orchard to celebrate the beginning of fall, the abundance of the harvest, and the traditions that make this season feel like home.
For more than a decade, my family has made the journey to Chiles Orchard as part of our own Mabon tradition, a time to honor the turning of the Wheel of the Year, celebrate the autumn harvest, and begin the gentle transition toward the darker, quieter months ahead.
We’d love for you to join us and make some new traditions of our own. 🍎
Together, we’ll wander the orchard, pick apples, enjoy the beauty of the season, and spend time connecting with one another. We’ll reflect on what is feeling abundant in our lives, what we’re ready to nurture, and what we may be ready to release or let rest as we move toward winter.
Come gather with your community family, share stories, soak up the last sweetness of summer, and welcome autumn with us.

🍎 At the Orchard
Chiles Orchard provides picking receptacles, so you do not need to bring your own bag. If you'd like to reach the higher apples, you may bring an official fruit-picking tool. Personal bags are not permitted in the orchard.
Current apple varieties include:
🍏 Granny Smith
💛 Jonagold
🍎 September Wonder
🍎 Gala
Depending on availability, there may also be sunflowers and wildflowers to cut for a seasonal bouquet!
After picking, we’ll have time to explore the Farm Market & Bakery, which offers fresh produce, cider donuts, ice cream, homemade fudge, pies, jams, and other local treats.
Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and dress comfortably for being outdoors.
Most importantly, come as you are. Bring your love of autumn, your appetite for apples, and a little space in your heart for new traditions. 🍎🍂
Let’s gather, harvest, reflect, and celebrate the turning of the season together.
Much love,
Caitlin
