Independence Day on the River 2026
About this Event
Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary with the Downtown Memphis Commission at Independence Day on the River, a family-friendly Fourth of July celebration happening on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
This free event will take place in Tom Lee Park—activated with three stages featuring live entertainment, food trucks, games, vendors, and festive activities for all ages.

The night will conclude with a drone show and fireworks spectacular at 9:00 PM , launching from the edge of Mud Island River Park and visible from across Downtown. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a dazzling display over the Mississippi.
Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to RSVP to receive event updates.
ENTRANCE INFORMATION
Gates Open at 5:30 PM.
Guests can enter through five access points:
- Beale St. & Riverside Dr.
- CutBank Bluff at Vance Ave.
- Bluff Walk at Huling Ave. & Tennessee St.
- Bluff Walk at W Butler Ave. & Tennessee St.
- Riverside Dr. & W Georgia Ave.
Metal detectors will be used at all entry points.

- Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, or any motorized vehicles
- Coolers
- Alcohol
- Pets (only trained service animals assisting individuals with disabilities are permitted)
