The Historical Society of Dauphin County will present the 16th annual public reading of the Declaration of Independence on Friday, July 4th, from the porch of the John Harris-Simon Cameron Mansion. The Declaration will be read by John Harris, Jr., portrayed by reenactor David Biser.
Readings will take place on the hour at 10:00am & 12:00pm. This is the perfect way to spend time before enjoying the City's Food Trucks at Riverfront Park!
Admission to readings of the Declaration is free.
A tour of the Harris-Cameron Mansion will be offered after the 10am reading at a special price of $4.00. HSDC members, children six and under, and any police, fire, first responder and military members and their families will be admitted free.
*** There will also be a used book sale inside the Mansion during the event.
