SysMLv2 Overview and Introduction
Mr. Gene Shreve
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) has been widely accepted as the preferred means to define systems specifications for new and existing DoD weapon systems and platforms. The industry standard languages for systems engineering are OMG’s SysML 1.x and UAF, an extension of SysML, for Enterprise Architecture. SysML has continued to mature and last year the OMG release a draft of SysML 2.0. The SysML 2.0 specification is a new type of language that offers many new modeling capabilities that were not possible in the previous version. This technical presentation will provide an overview and introduction to SysMLv2: the motivation behind version 2, a partial comparison between SysMLv1 and SysMLv2, SysMLv2 concepts, steps needed to transition from SysMLv1 to SysMLv2.
