U.S. citizens ages 18 and older must present a REAL ID compliant photo identification.
Individuals ages 16 to 17 must bring a photo ID. School IDs are accepted.
Individuals ages 13 to 13 require registration only.
All foreign nationals (non-U.S. citizens) must be approved for a visit before they can be issued a visitor gate pass. Depending upon the country of birth and citizenship, approval could take seven (7) business days or longer for processing.
After approval and upon arrival at Argonne, foreign nationals must bring their valid original passport and applicable visa with any U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services documentation supporting the visa status and/or renewal. These documents include:
- F-1: passport, visa, and I-20
- J-1: passport, visa, and DS2019
- B-1: passport, visa, and I-94
- H-1: passport, visa and I-94, or passport, I-797, and I-94
- EAD card (OPT status): passport, EAD card, and I-20 (include third page of I-20)

This meeting will be in person only in Lemont, IL.
Arrive at least 10 minutes before the tour begins. The tour begins promptly. Late arrivals beyond 5 minutes cannot be accommodated.
