Where movement meets music — and every child gets to shine.
Saskatoon Kids Physio is thrilled to launch Inclusive Dance Therapy: an 8-week program designed for children ages 5–10 who use movement aids or have movement-related diagnoses. Led by Cassandra Knisely — a professionally trained dancer AND registered physiotherapist — this program blends the joy of dance with the science of pediatric rehabilitation.
Sessions are 45 minutes — intentionally designed for children with movement disabilities to get maximum benefit without fatigue. That's not a shorter class. That's the right class.
This is a non-parented program. Children attend independently, building confidence, social connection, and physical skills in a supportive, joyful environment. Caregivers are welcome to wait in our family-friendly lobby.

IS THIS PROGRAM RIGHT FOR MY CHILD?
─────────────────────────────
Inclusive Dance Therapy is designed for children who experience movement challenges, including:
• Hypotonia (low muscle tone)
• Cerebral Palsy (CP)
• Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) affecting movement
• Children who use a wheelchair or walker
• AFO (ankle-foot orthosis) users
• Children working on balance, stability & fall prevention
• Gross motor delays or coordination difficulties
• Children building strength & controlled movement
• Any child who loves to move but needs a little extra support to do it safely
Not sure if it's the right fit? Reach out — our team is happy to chat through your child's needs before you register.

WHAT TO EXPECT
─────────────────────────────
Before the 8-week series begins, each child completes a 1:1 physiotherapy assessment with Cassandra ($55). This ensures the program is tailored to your child's goals, abilities, and any equipment they use.
Each 45-minute session is intentionally paced — enough time for a meaningful, progressive workout without pushing children past their capacity. Sessions use music, movement games, and dance-based activities to build:
• Strength & endurance
• Balance & stability
• Body awareness & coordination
• Controlled, purposeful movement
• Confidence & self-expression
Small group sizes ensure every child receives individualized attention within the group setting.
─────────────────────────────
WHY 45 MINUTES?
─────────────────────────────
Children with movement disabilities work harder than most people realize just to participate in everyday movement. A 45-minute session is carefully designed to maximize therapeutic benefit while respecting each child's neurological and physical capacity. This isn't a compromise — it's evidence-informed practice.
─────────────────────────────
