For the second time, the Inquisitor’s Palace is opening its doors on 23 April, after hours, from 19:00 to 21:30, inviting you into the historic 16th-century courtyard to enjoy a glass of Embit! Our Taste History team and invited expert wine makers from the Le Berne winery, will guide us to taste, experience and learn about the historic Tuscan wines produced abroad, but are known to be staples on noble Maltese tables and in their titled ‘Bottiglieri’.The chosen selection interprets perfectly the palate and tastes of the high born, and in this case, even the Holy. In this session of Taste History, the reference for our story comes from quite an unlikely place. This 18th-century reference does not come to us from a palace, or a villa, but from the top of a pulpit in the quaint village of Casal Chircop.
Come and find out how and what the homily of Chaplain Vincenzo Muscat, honouring the life and sacrifice of St Leonard de Noblat, reveals about the consumption of wine in Malta, and encounter the ‘heavenly’ tastes for yourself.
A food pairing will also be served. The selection will consist of homemade and local products crafted in-house by our chefs for you to enjoy, while savouring the noble taste worthy of any table beyond the pearly gates.
Tickets can be purchased online here https://heritagemalta.mt/whats-on/inbid-ghall-angli-a-taste-of-wine-from-italys-historic-heartland/ or from any Heritage Malta museum and site.
