A guided nature walk, led by botany hobbyist and citizen scientist Derek S., an iNaturalist Ambassador. Participants will be introduced to the region's native plants on a guided tour of the Visitor Center Loop Trail. MTRP volunteer Stacey, extremely knowledgeable of the local area, will also be in attendance. Derek and Stacey are willing to help answer any participants' questions, and share their knowledge of native plants and wildlife.

We will travel down the trail, stopping to talk about the native plants we see, and making iNaturalist observations. This will be a good introduction for beginning iNaturalist users, or those just starting out and wanting to learn about making observations and identifications. Experienced iNaturalist users and those of all skill levels are welcome.

Our aim will mainly be learning about botany, but birders, mycologists, lepidopterists, mammalogists, reptile- and amphibian-lovers, and curious naturalists of all inclinations and focuses of study are welcome.

Bring sunscreen, plenty of water, and any snacks or sandwiches you may want along the trail. Please wear decent hiking boots or shoes you're comfortable hiking in.

The Visitor Center Loop is approx. 1.5 miles, challenge rating: Easy.

If participants wish to continue after the Visitor Center Loop, we could also do an optional Oak Grove Loop, or whatever further trails the group may be interested in.
