PERFORMER INFORMATION:
JUNO-nominated artist, Tara Kannangara is asecond-generation, Sri Lankan-Canadian force of nature, giving you music that is deeply personal, genre-bending and culture blending. All this, encompassed by wild trumpet melodies, searing guitar lines, lush synths, and piercing lyricismwill make you turn your head and listen. Originally from Chilliwack,BC, Tara eventuallyended up at the University of Toronto studyingmusic. After years of studying institutionalized art, Tara was compelled to break the veneerbuilt around her experience of music-making. She began to write about being a dreamer, an outsider, and a woman longing to be seen. Tara has been featured on CBC's The Signal, The Sunday Edition and NPR Tiny Desk with Lido Pimienta. She also performed on Lido's Grammy nominated record, Miss Colombia. She has hadthe privilege to work with extraordinary homegrown artists such as Jeremy Dutcher, Charlotte Cornfield, and Witch Prophet. Her own work has been presented at major festivals across North America.
Hailing from the Canadian prairies, Mallory Chipman is a true musical polymath. An award-winning musician as well as a songwriter, producer, and music scholar, Chipman is celebrated for her acrobatic voice and the way she powerfully weaves truth and story into song. Her latest album, Songs to a Wild God, hit #1 on CKUA, #5 on the Folk Alliance International Charts, and has been featured on NPR and SiriusXM Radio. Over the course of her five album career, Chipman has toured extensively and internationally, opening for artists including Jann Arden and Madeleine Peyroux. While reflecting contemporary themes, the quality of Chipman’s craft “places her amidst the longer tradition of the great singer-songwriters” (Americana UK) and has been described as "a masterclass in innovation and creativity" (Certified Bop), establishing her as an instant classic in the Canadian folk music scene. Mallory Chipman is currently nominated for Solo Artist of the Year at the 2026 Canadian Folk Music Awards.
With an adoration for songwriting, Nardos Almaz began her musical journey from her childhood bedroom in Kitchener-Waterloo. She uses her clever guitar melodies and honest lyrics to navigate the many facets of her intersectional identity. Now based in Toronto, Almaz released her debut EP “Close Contact” in October 2025 following her through the sobering reality of young adulthood as a queer, Black, woman. Through her electric performances and poignant songwriting, she’s steadily carving out a space for herself in the indie music scene.
Dan Dwoskin (The Honeyrunners) is a Toronto pianist, singer, and songwriter who treats the stage like a confessional booth (with better lighting). Known as a driving force behind soulful folk-rock outfit The Honeyrunners, Dwoskin writes melodies built to bruise a little, woven with lyrics that linger like a secret. You can hear the fingerprints of his heroes; Patrick Watson’s cinematic hush, Leif Vollebekk’s wandering heart, the storytelling bones of Paul Simon and Bob Dylan, the raw ache of Brittany Howard, even a flicker of Zeppelin swagger—woven through his own restless voice. After more than two decades in Toronto’s music trenches, he is deep in the studio crafting the next Honeyrunners record with fellow bassist and producer, Guillermo Subauste, sharpening songs made to be felt in real time, in rooms exactly like Annette Studios.
