Celebrate the end of the school year and kick off the City of Birmingham's In The Park summer concert series with the Birmingham Bloomfield Community Coalition Youth Action Board's annual Teen Summer Concert on June 12, 2026, from 7 until 9:30 p.m. This free event features music from community favorite the Hood Band, as well as performances by local teens showcasing various talents. Bring the family along with lawn chairs or a blanket and join the fun in Shain Park!
The Youth Action Board (YAB) plans this annual event to honor the students and the schools that persevered through the academic year AND to celebrate the start of summer!
YAB is a group of high school students from Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills public and private schools. They volunteer their time and talents to plan activities and provide opportunities in the community for their peers that are fun, safe, promote a healthy lifestyle and support teens' mental health and well being. YAB members work to support their peers and to shine a light on area teens' many talents and the positive things they do. Learn more at https://bbcoalition.org/yab-mab/.
Birmingham's In the Park summer concert series offers weekly performances through Aug. 26. See the full lineup at bhamgov.org/concerts.
Nearby parking is available at the Chester Street and Pierce Street structures, where the first two hours of parking are always free.
If inclement weather threatens, check for event status updates on bhamgov.org/concerts, the city's Facebook and Instagram (@bhamgov) accounts and the concert hotline at (248) 530-1650.
