About this Event
As part of Saudha International Literature Festival, poet Ahmed Kaysher presents a hypnotic theatrical combination of spoken word and haunting music, re-interpreting the heart-piercing poetry and tragic life of this iconic poet.The session has been supported by the Mayor's Small Grant Programme of Tower Hamlets Council and A Season of Bangla Drama.
The production features musical performances by the incredible Yijia Tu on the guzheng – an ancient Chinese zither – and the powerful violinist Basia Bartz. The musicians will provide a captivating soundscape for Sylvia Plath‘s work, performed by three prominent performance poets – Sophia Blackwell, Amy Neilson Smith and Shree Ganguly.

Saudha's lyrics of Love at the SouthBank Centre and at Edinburgh Fringe and Chayanaut through Sebastian Bach at the House of Commons, Taste of Twilight at ICCR, Kolkata and the Welsh Parliament were critically acclaimed by major media and musicologists.
During Covid, Saudha took the first ever and historic initiative to connect leading musicians of the globe, writers, poets, painters and filmmakers from all across the world through social media platforms and the sessions were hugely appreciated by the audiences from all around the globe
