About this Event

What does it mean to live a good life in today's world? And what role should business schools play in helping society get there?

In this thought-provoking Dean's Lecture, Baron Prem Sikka will challenge conventional thinking about accounting, finance, management and higher education. Drawing on decades of internationally recognised research and public policy work, he will explore how current business practices contribute to some of society's most pressing challenges, from inequality and corporate accountability to financial instability and social wellbeing.

The lecture will examine how accounting, finance and management systems can both shape and constrain people's ability to lead fulfilling lives, and will ask whether universities are doing enough to prepare future leaders to address these issues.

Baron Prem Sikka has been a member of the House of Lords since 2020 and is an internationally renowned expert on corporate governance, tax avoidance, auditing, corruption and business ethics. His work has informed parliamentary inquiries, influenced public debate and earned numerous lifetime achievement and public service awards.

Whether you're a student, academic, business professional or simply interested in the future of business and society, this lecture promises to spark debate and inspire fresh thinking.

Free to attend. Booking essential.
