ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Dare to Howl’s ‘’Extended Boundaries’ collection reimagines the formation of personal and social space as a physical forcefield. It explores how personal space can expand and contract, adapting to the wearer's emotional state. The use of deep folds, layered volumes and exaggerated silhouettes combined with the dark iridescent taffeta and the rich textured Donegal tweed, symbolises the tension between vulnerability and strength. Repurposed unwanted items such as thread spools and toy capsules form structure. |These bold sculptural forms and intense fabric manipulations, create palpable wearable shields, expressing protection, separation and empowerment. Rounded inflated shapes and unconventional contours speak of the complexity of human boundaries, offering a commanding sense of presence while maintaining a protective barrier. Each garment tells a story of resilience, introspection and personal evolution, transforming personal space into a visibly striking sculpture.

Drawing Cabaret Couture (DCC) is an independent production company & studio based in East London.

Founded by Matthew Lawrence (Artist & Set Designer) and Janet Mayer (movement director, model & professional dancer), DCC has worked on a wide variety of exclusive projects and events. Including high-profile fashion campaigns, elaborate film & photography concepts - and everything in between.

Although we’ve worked in many exclusive events, we strongly believe that high fashion and art should be for everyone. On Eventbrite, we open up this world to everyone, by running affordable, weekly, life drawing classes. Every event is inspired by our experience working in the fashion industry and London’s glamorous nightlife scene, and we always feature work from London’s most exciting and radical designers.
