About this Event

Welcome to In Our Own Voice!

The event is suitable for ages 7th grade through adults.

This NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) presentation will change attitudes, assumptions and ideas about people with mental health conditions. It will provide a personal perspective as leaders with lived experience talk openly about what it's like to have a mental health condition. They will discuss what happened, what helps and what's next in their journey with mental illness.

Additionally, Meghan Murphy, Prevention Consultant, Mental Health Association of Morris/Sussex ~ NJ Statewide Student Supoort Services (NJ4S) will discuss the NJ4S program which provides an array of social, emotional and mental health services supporting students and their parents/caregivers and is provided at no cost. It is centered around the voice, experience, and needs of students and their families. NJ4S is funded by the Department of Children and Families.
