In honor of Dan Fernandes: Celebration of Hope Walk

TIME: Registration begins at 8:00am. Speeches normally start closer to 9:00am if you already registered online. You can stay as long as you’d like, or leave right after the 2 mile walk.)

If you have your specific “Team Grateful Dan” t-shirt from the first year, please wear it.
This is an annual walk held by HOPE Sheds Light, an organization that Danny (and some family members) have belonged to that provides recovery programs for those affected by addiction. We want to spread awareness and aid in the fundraising effort to benefit HOPE Sheds Light and their mission.
Danny suffered with this disease for 11 years and did his best so many times to beat it. There is a lot of misinformation about this disease and trust us when we say; there was nothing Danny wanted more than to be clean. Despite this, he was the best son, brother, and friend that you could ever ask for. His humor was unmatched and he had the biggest heart. He passed away on April 15, 2022 and we all miss him more than words can describe.
If you knew Dan, you knew he was an avid music lover. Our family came up with the team name, “GRATEFUL DAN” attributed to a play on words for one of his favorite bands, The Grateful Dead. It’s appropriate to also take the name as, we were and still are grateful for Dan every day.
Please join our team for the third year in a row and come enjoy a beautiful day by the ocean, walking with Danny’s friends and family! Our goal is to raise as much money as possible in his honor. We hope to see you there!
