In Her Voice with Taylor Armstrong—author, advocate, and survivor—Nov. 13 in Evanston. A powerful night on domestic violence awareness.
About this Event

On Thursday, November 13, 2025, YWCA Evanston/North Shore (E/NS) will proudly launch In Her Voice, a new event series dedicated to uplifting women and advancing conversations that inspire change. Held at the historic Women’s Club of Evanston, this inaugural evening will feature —author, advocate, reality TV personality, and survivor of domestic violence.

Taylor, a former cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, will share her personal story of surviving domestic violence and how she turned her trauma into advocacy. Her conversation with our community will not only shed light on the realities of domestic violence but also reinforce the urgent need for collective action.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month is recognized nationally every October. By hosting this inaugural In Her Voice event in November, YWCA E/NS will carry this momentum forward, ensuring that awareness, advocacy, and support for survivors remain in the spotlight beyond a single month. This series builds on the legacy of our YWomen Leadership Celebration, creating space to honor women, elevate urgent issues, and spark dialogue that leads to action. In Her Voice is our new year-round signature platform to address the challenges women face—and to amplify their voices.

In Her Voice event proceeds directly support YWCA Evanston/North Shore’s comprehensive domestic violence services that serve thousands every year, including our 24/7 crisis hotline, emergency shelter and longer-term housing, counseling, legal advocacy, children’s services, Alternatives to Violence (partner abuse intervention), and a wide range of prevention education and training. At a time when we are navigating already implemented budget cuts and the threat of further cuts looms, every ticket and sponsorship helps ensure survivors continue to receive the care they deserve.
