As the Great War ended, a talented painter moved from London to Royston to enjoy the peace, quiet and slow way of rural life. Ernest H. Whydale spent the remainder of his life capturing the rolling countryside, working animals and local folk going about their daily lives.
Royston Museum now holds the largest collection of Whydale’s work in the world, this talk will explore his prints and paintings, from personal caricatures to Royal Academy worthy works.
