The filmmaker behind Man of God and Moses the Black is coming to Laval.Join us on Sunday, April 26th, 2026 at 5:00 PM at Château Royal for an intimate fundraising dinner with acclaimed writer-director Yelena Popovic, in a live conversation guided by Jonathan Pageau.
During the evening, Yelena will reflect on her experience bringing the lives of Orthodox saints to the screen, from Man of God (Saint Nektarios) to Moses the Black. Through personal stories of her time in Greek monasteries and her journey behind the lens, she will share how the lives of the saints continue to speak to us today.
Jonathan Pageau will guide a thoughtful conversation exploring faith, storytelling, and the sacred art of cinema.
This is not a lecture. It's an evening around the table, a meal shared with others who believe that the lives of the saints still matter, and that the monastery is still a living heart of the Church.
All proceeds from this special evening will directly support the continued development and mission of the Holy Monastery of the Virgin Mary the Consolatory in Brownsburg-Chatham, Quebec.

La cinéaste derrière Man of God et Moses the Black sera à Laval.
Joignez-vous à nous le dimanche 26 avril 2026 à 17h au Château Royal pour un souper-bénéfice intime en compagnie de la réalisatrice acclamée Yelena Popovic, dans une conversation animée par Jonathan Pageau.
Au cours de la soirée, Yelena reviendra sur son parcours pour porter la vie des saints orthodoxes à l'écran, de Man of God (Saint Nektarios) à Moses the Black. À travers des récits personnels de son passage dans des monastères grecs et de son cheminement derrière la caméra, elle partagera comment la vie des saints continue de nous rejoindre aujourd'hui.
Jonathan Pageau animera une conversation sur la foi, le pouvoir des histoires et le cinéma comme art sacré.
Ce n'est pas une conférence. C'est une soirée autour de la table, un repas partagé avec ceux qui croient que la vie des saints compte toujours, et que le monastère demeure un cœur vivant de l'Église.
Tous les profits de cette soirée seront versés directement au développement et à la mission du Saint Monastère de la Vierge Marie la Consolatrice à Brownsburg-Chatham, Québec.
