About this Event
We are thrilled to welcome international best-selling author Marlon James to Deansgate to celebrate the release of the tenth anniversary edition of his Booker Prize-winning novel, A Brief History of Seven Killings.
A sprawling, immensely audacious fictionalised account of the real-life attempted M**der of reggae superstar Bob Marley, James' novel introduces the reader to a host of unforgettable characters and a vividly realised 1970s Jamaica. Gripping and inventive, ambitious and mesmerising, A Brief History of Seven Killings is one of the most remarkable and extraordinary novels of the twenty-first century.
The new paperback edition features a brand-new look and a foreword from fellow Booker Prize-winner Bernardine Evaristo OBE. It also includes new insights from the author, reflecting on the past 10 years since its release.
Marlon joins us to celebrate this truly unforgettable novel and answer audience questions, followed by a signing.
